The End Approaches ;)

So the end of the waiting in finally near! (and I thought I had learned patience :) I went to the doctor for a mission physical and so he should be submitting that to my Bishop in the next week. The only thing I have left is to take my mission picture and that is simple enough to do. So I'm getting soooooooo close! I'm so excited!

In the meantime, I'm working a Jimmy Johns quite a bit. The manager who works out our schedule rocks! She gave me over thirty hours a week, so I am earning a good amount, which makes me a lot less stressed.

For those of you in Arizona (the only one of which I know is reading is my mother :), I am planning on coming down on the 14th of June to visit for the weekend and go to my wonderful Sister-in-Law's first Baby Shower! I'm so excited! Hope you guys have nice, toasty weather ready for me when I come. I haven't had a good heat wave in a while. Oh, and if anyone wants to hang out with me, remember when I'm coming down and we'll try to make it happen :)

Anywho, I just thought I would write and take advantage of the wonderfully exciting news to write on here. The times between when it will be me writing on here and when my mom will be posting stuff on here is dwindling. Love you all!

Can I push it off a cliff yet?

As usual, I haven't written on here in forever. At least when I go on my mission, I'm required to write my family weekly, which probably means you'll get updates about that often.

So, my car threw another long hissy fit. For almost two weeks, it refused to pass emissions. The darling car finally decided to cooperate, and then decided to get a little oo friendly with a pole today. This car is giving me no end of grief.

I can't remember the last time that I wrote on here, but I think since then I've got a job. I work at Jimmy John's in Provo. I mostly deliver sandwiches.

Anyway, I am trying to finish up the last of my mission paperwork, but first I need to do my doctor visit. Any suggestions for good Utah doctors?

Chin-chinny-chin, chin chinny chin, chin Can I feel you?

Just a quick update. I got my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday. It wasn't too bad, which I was very glad of. Pretty much the only remaining problem is that I can't feel half of my chin. From my mouth down on my right side, there is no feeling. It is really, REALLY weird! Anyway, the nurses tell me that it is either from swelling or a bruised nerve.

Oh, and for anyone who may live in Arizona and may read this and may want to see me :) I'm coming down to Arizona on the 21st and staying through Saturday at least. Comment or get ahold of me if you would like to do anything.

Whirlwind of Insanity

Alright, well since I last posted, I found out that my mission papers were somehow deleted and there is no way of recovering them. So, I'm starting anew. I'm working with my bishop to gain access to my papers. In the meantime, I getting my wisdom teeth removed and trying to find a job. I will be working up in Utah until at least June with how it's looking right now. Anyway, I gots to go help fill a special missionary birthday package for the amazing Elder Vennard!

So, Arizona has been a blast so far! I love being able to see my family for a while. Plus, I was here just in time for my little brother to open his mission call to the Peru Trujillo Mission. He leaves May 23rd.

I also talked to my old bishop and got some of my mission paperwork so that I can finish my papers up in Utah. A week from today, I pretty much only need my wisdom teeth pulled and the interviews with my bishop and stake president, and then I can turn in my papers. I'M SO EXCITED!!! All the rest of my dental work is getting done down here, thanks to a family friend.

With all this excitement, my favorite spiritual song right now is "All Times, All Things, All Places" by Chad Neth. This song reminds me that you can't just go on a mission and magically be spiritually in tune and familiar with the scriptures. The lyrics for this song are below.

Arizona, Here I come!

We can never become complacent. We have to keep moving forward and trying to improve.

I have been working on moving forward on my mission papers. So, I am headed down to Arizona tomorrow! Ms. Rachel Schlappi, a good friend, is getting married next weekend, and I'm going to reception. While I am down there, I should be getting the last of my dental work done, with the exception of my wisdom teeth. That's another large step towards a mission!

Anyway, I'll be in Arizona for two weeks of partying and visiting my amazing family. I haven't been gone that long, but I'm ready to be home!

Loving the Dentist and my Scriptures!

It's been a pretty weird week up here in oh-not-so-snowy Utah. I started out the week with two root canals. This would be a way bigger deal if my dentist wasn't so AMAZING! He made sure that no only was I not feeling any pain, but that I also wasn't freaking out. The biggest surprise: I didn't really freak out at all! So, I got that done, and then on Wednesday, I went in to have two more root canals done. The biggest surprise: I didn't have to get any done! They found out that those two teeth looked much worse on the x-rays than they actually were. Talk about saving some money.

Another really exciting thing that started this week is that our ward started a Book of Mormon Challenge. In Mesa, our single ward did this every summer in the space of about two months. It takes A LOT of reading, but I love reading and I want to do everything that I can to prepare for my mission, so I usually participate. Anyway, I have a brand new set of scriptures to read from this time (THANKS MOM!!!), so it's even more exciting to go through and be able to pick out new things since there are no marks in them yet. I also have decided to go through and write down different scriptures that I find that would give me strength. I want to try to memorize these scriptures as I prepare for my mission (which I really want to go on but still don't know what is in the Lord's plan for me).

I was thinking about posting the scriptures that I'm working on when I start on them, but didn't know if anyone would be interested. Any comments?
